Peugeot’s 206 CC was the pace-setter for a generation of small coupes with folding hard-tops, a design the company had pioneered since the 1930s. Having established itself as the world’s best selling model in its class, the 206 CC will make way in march 2007 for the 207 CC, built on the same platform as the 207 hatchback.
The new car will use a fully automatic folding roof, dispensing with the manual catches featured on the previous model. ~~Standard and turbocharged 1.6-litre petrol engines will be available, producing 120 and 150hp respectively, together with a 110hp 1.6 HDi diesel. All will use a five-speed manual gearbox with a four-speed Tiptronic automatic offered as an option on the lesser-powered petrol unit.
Sport and GT grades will be available, all equipped with a suite of five airbags and a new roll-over protection system. ~Prices and further specifications will be announced later.

The Peugeot 4007 is the French manufacturer’s first compact SUV, a recreational 4×4 that has been developed in partnership with Citroen and Mitsubishi and will be launched in the second half of 2007.
Early details show a bold design that incorporates plenty of current Peugeot styling cues, including large backswept headlights and huge front grille. The large wheelarches and high ground clearance point to the vehicle’s off-road capability.
The 4007 will be launched with a 2.2-litre Hdi diesel engine that Peugeot has developed in conjunction with Ford. Its environmental credentials include a diesel particulate filter and the ability to run on a mix of diesel and up to 30 per cent biofuel. The vehicle will use a six-speed manual transmission.
