Volkswagen are launched a new high performance versionn of the VW Passat Saloon and Estate called the Passat R36. With a 3.6 litre V6 producing 296bhp and 4motion four wheel drive the new model will be the quickest production Passat todate. With large 18 inch alloys and additional sports styling customers should be able to lease an R36 later this year. Full leasing rates to follow on the Nationwide website.

Volkswagen are offering a new Special Edition of the Golf GTi called the Pirelli. This is the second time VW have team up with Pirelli, the first being with the original GTi in 1983. As well as colour coded design touches and 18 inch alloys with Pirelli tyres the power output from the 2 litre turbo engine has been increased from 197bhp to 227bhp, The new model will be available as a 3 or 5 door version with or without VW’s DSG Automatic gearbox. Volkswagen’s new Golf Estate is set to make its debut at the Geneva Motor Show on 6 March. With the largest loadspace of any Golf EState to date 
the new model extends the versatility of the Golf range. As well as a new look to the rear of the car the Golf Estate benefits from fresh styling at the front together with several desirable practical and dynamic touches.
While practicality and load lugging are high on the Golf Estate’s agenda the sharp driving dynamics of the hatchback are retained. The new Golf Estate will be powered by a range of advanced engines: The refined and economical diesel variants come in a choice of 1.9-litre TDI 105 PS and 2.0-litre TDI 140 PS engines. Petrol engines comprise of 1.4-litre TSI 140 PS and 1.6-litre FSI 102 PS variants from the Golf hatchback. Volkswagen has unveiled its compact 4×4, the Concept Tiguan, at the Los Angeles Auto Show, and has announced that the first examples of the SUV will be delivered to customers by the end of next year.
The first news of the Tiguan’s development came with the debut of Concept A in Berlin earlier this year. This was followed by the naming of the model in July, the result of a poll of more than 350,000 readers of magazines of the AutoBild group. This latest development in Los Angeles takes the Tiguan one step closer to production and hints strongly at how the final version could look. Maintaining the ‘baby Touareg’ appearance of the Concept A, Concept Tiguan makes a bold styling statement. At 4.4 metres long, 1.85 m wide and 1.69 m high, it is very similar in size to the Touran compact MPV (4.4 m, 1.8 m, 1.6 m).
More details on the Tiguan will be revealed in the first quarter of 2007. The car will go on sale in the UK early in 2008.

Volkswagen is unveiling a new-look Touareg at the Paris Motor Show. The full-size 4×4 SUV has a new look front and rear, but shares the same platform and mechanicals as the original, launched in 2003.
Due to go on sale in January 2007, the Touareg will benefit from a new ABS system, ABSPlus, developed by Volkswagen and improving braking performance on loose surfaces by up to 20 per cent. The Electronic Stability Programme has also been upgraded to provide Active Roll-over Protection.
The current Touareg, S and Altitude trims will be retained, with a choice of one petrol and three diesel engines. These are the 280hp 3.6-litre V6 petrol, 174hp 2.5-litre TDI with diesel particulate filter, 225hp 3.0-litre V6 TDI (with or without DPF) and the 313hp 5.0-litre V10 TDI.

Revealed at the Tokyo Motor Show in Japan, the new Polo GTI is equipped with 150 PS making it the most powerful Polo released since the range was introduced by Volkswagen thirty years ago.
The Polo GTI is powered by a 1.8-litre turbo charged petrol engine that produces a maximum torque of 220 Nm (at 1,950 revs) and makes the Polo GTI capable of 0-60 MPH in only 8.2 seconds with a top speed of 134 mph a
t 5,800 revs.
The Polo GTI is closely based on the appearance of the multi-award winning Golf GTI and shares styling cues including twin exhaust pipes, GTI branded honeycomb grille with red detail lines and tasteful black surrounds extending down into the bumper of the new turbo-charged Polo. Black side skirts visually underline the dynamic chassis design of the Polo and the rooftop spoiler contains an integrated third brake light to aid safety. The bright red brake callipers stand out while complimenting the stylish ‘Monza’ alloy wheels.
