New Mondeo for 2007

The all-new Ford Mondeo will make its world debut at the Geneva motor show, with four and five-door and estate versions all due to reach showrooms in June. More than four million Mondeos have been built since the original was launched in 1993, with around 1.5 million sold in the UK.

The new car follows Ford’s Kinetic Design styling and promises better dynamic performance and effective use of hi-tech features. Stability control, a Category 1 alarm, air conditioning, follow-me-home lights, trip computer, MP3 connector socket and an Easyfuel system that prevents the wrong fuel being put in the tank will be standard on all versions. Advanced features such as adaptive cruise control, keyless entry and start-up and an interactive vehicle dynamics system with hill start assist will be available within the range.New Ford Mondeo

To improve ride and handling, a new multilink rear suspension has been introduced, with refinements to the front suspension and steering. Measures have been taken to reduce noise, vibration and harshness, too.

Mondeo will be offered in Edge, Zetec, Ghia and Titanium X grades with a choice of four diesel and five petrol engines, including a new 2.3-litre petrol unit with six-speed automatic transmission.
