New Volvo V70 launches September.
Volvo’s all-new V70 estate adds some welcome dynamic appeal to the worthy load-lugging qualities the model has established in the past. Due to reach UK showrooms in September, it displays stronger styling, with references to the recent C30 coupe. It is not all about show, however, as the car is stronger, safer, more spacious and more versatile than before. The boot opens wider and can hold more, with a new 40:20:40 split rear seat adding plenty of versatility. A locking cubby hole in the boot floor is a neat touch, together with adjustable anchor points. ![]()
Volvo claims a safety first with a new integrated dual-height booster cushion for children. Airbag dimensions have also been adjusted to take younger passengers into account.
The engine line-up will include a new turbocharged straight-six petrol engine, producing 285hp and 0-62mph acceleration in 7.2 seconds. All V70 models will be avialable with Volvo’s Geartronic transmission, which offers both automatic and manual shift selection.
