Renault Twingo to be launched in UK
The next generation of Renault’s Twingo city car will be the first to be sold in the UK in right-hand drive form. Unveiled at the Geneva motor show, the new Twingo has previously proved very popular in European markets, with almost 2.5 million sales since 1993.
The new version, built in Slovenia, will reach the UK in September and will be o
ffered with a choice of a two models: a Dynamique with a 75hp 1.2-litre petrol engine, and a GT with Renault’s new TCE (Turbo Control Efficiency) 100hp 1.2-litre petrol unit.
The interior features four seats, all of which have a slide adjustment. Renault claims best-in-class boot space with all seats in place, with both rear seats fldable to create extra storage room.
Key features will include audio poins to connect USB sticks or digital music players and optional Bluetooth connectivity. Advances on the previous model include the availability of cruise control, side airbags, climate control, automatic healdights and a height adjustable steering wheel. Prices and specifications for the UK models will be announced nearer the on-sale date.
