My company supplied me with a new 1.4TDi Polo Match in early June 2008.

I have now covered 6000 miles (as of 01/09/08). Most of my mileage is on A roads with about 25% of my mileage in towns, not during rush hours and very rarely in jams!

The very best MPG I have achieved was 48 over 9 gallons of fuel on country roads in the south west of Scotland, viz not crowded!

My consistent MPG is around 42.

The car has also used a litre of oil in 6000 miles …. this I can accept as Diesels can use oil when new, however, 42 MPG is not impressive considering I consistently achieved 45 MPG in my previous M-B A140 Petrol!

Has anyone else experienced similar MPG ?

    Bob Lawrie
